The PlayStation Dual Sense Edge is Sony's first Pro Controller in the market and is seen as a response to Microsoft's Pro Controller. It costs roughly 200 dollars, which may be worth it when compared to Microsoft's options. Microsoft has two versions of their Pro Controller, starting at around 120 dollars for the basic version, which can be later customized with accessories like paddle buttons. The more expensive version costs 180 dollars and comes fully loaded with accessories.

The Dual Sense Edge has some unique features compared to the standard PlayStation 5 controller. It has interchangeable back buttons, customizable grips, exclusive software and fully customizable joysticks. Sony, being the designer and engineer behind the controller, has a deep integration of software and hardware that makes the Dual Sense Edge stand out compared to third-party options.

The design of the Dual Sense Edge feels premium and more expensive than the standard PS5 controller, with textured grips and function buttons. The travel case also has a high-quality design, with a clamshell design that holds everything nicely organized. The case includes a braided cable that is nine feet long and has a unique locking mechanism to prevent the controller from unplugging during intense games.

There are two types of paddles that can be attached to the back of the Dual Sense Edge, with either a simple tap or a flat traditional style. The paddles are held together magnetically and can be easily removed. The back of the controller also has a quick access USB C port for charging while it's stored away.

Both triggers have stop sliders that make the contact point quickly responsive, ideal for first-person shooters. The joysticks can also be replaced, unlike the previous standard controller where you either had to replace the entire controller or buy a new one if you experienced Phantom drift.

A unique selling point of the Dual Sense Edge is its functional buttons in the front and its depleted logo, which also acts as a grip for your fingers. The controller also has a QR code that takes you to the PlayStation website for additional accessories and how-to guides.
